Kerry Parker

2026 solo Collaborators

Commissioned for Andrew Lester

Born and raised in St Paul, MN, Kerry Parker studied first with Miss Janet Smith, a goddess who provided the best early ballet education on the face of the planet. She studied with Jo Savino, Frank Bourman, Loyce Houlton, David Voss, Bonnie Mathis, Lirena Branitski…that era was golden. She also studied with Mr. Andahazy, who is responsible for starting dance in the Twin Cities. Thanks to Nancy Hauser for bringing the lineage of Mary Wigman to our town.

Summers were spent at Milwaukee Ballet studying with Brunilda Ruiz, an original member of The Joffrey Ballet who taught Kerry how to dance on pointe, and at SAB studying with Danilova and Stanley Williams, Tumi, Kramarevski, David Howard and other amazing artists who were alive in the 80’s. Thank you to all and the musicians.

Kerry danced and studied at Pacific Northwest Ballet and The Vienna State Opera Ballet. Both were amazing. She freelanced in New York, and then !!! with Ballet of the Dolls under the direction of Myron Johnson. Thank you Dolls.

As a choreographer, Kerry has been commissioned and supported by On the Boards, James Sewell Ballet, Center for Performing Arts, Strange Loop Productions, Michael Sommers. Everything else she has made has been self-produced.

Kerry currently lives in South Minneapolis. She has a GYROTONIC studio in Center for Performing Arts and teaches ballet on Tuesdays at Hennepin Center of the Arts. She makes her own work with the best artists ever and performs with people that she trusts.
